Lauded for her “rich tones and elegant poise” (Opera Wire) Polish-American Soprano Amelia Burshe, is a Texas native currently based in New York. In 2024 she debuted Violetta in Verdi’s La Traviata and Juliette in Gounod's Romeo et Juliette in a touring production with Utah Valley Operafest. In 2022 she was an artist in the prestigious Aspen Music Festival, where she covered the role of Alice in Verdi's Falstaff alongside acclaimed baritone Bryn Terfel in the title role, conducted by Patrick Summers. Amelia's past credits include lyric soprano roles such as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, the title role in Tchaikovsky's Iolanta, Handel’s Alcina, and Anna-Viola in Raphaël Lucas's Confession. She is a two-time Encouragement Award Winner in the Metropolitan Opera Competition and top ten finalist in the Classical Singer Competition. This spring she looks forward to competing as a grand finalist in The Dallas Opera Lone Star Vocal Competition.
