Maaike Hupperetz was born on 24 March 1996 in Heerlen, the Netherlands. In 2013 she started at the classical vocal department at Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts in Tilburg.That year she got singing lessons from Xenia Meijer. One year later she switched to Classical Music theatre at the same school. In 2017 she graduated cum laude with her own solo performance ‘The Diva’, directed by Alexandra van Marken. Starting from the summer of 2016 Maaike is being coached by Helen and Klaus Donath. With them she gaveconcerts in Salzburg, Sachrang and Zürich.In March 2018 she was soloist in the opera ‘Aorta’ at the Opera Forward Festival. In September 2018 Maaike started the master program at the Conservatory of Amsterdam (CvA). In the beginning of that year she did a couple of concerts in Muziekgebouw aan het IJ (Amsterdam)and Tivoli Vredenburg (Utrecht) together with the CvA Symphonic Orchestra, conducted by Andrew Grams. There she sang music of Richard Strauss. During her study she also sang La Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro and Vitellia in La Clemenza di Tito. In February 2021 she graduated cum laude from her study at the CvA. Maaike is now being coachedby Sasja Hunnego, Ira Siff and David Bollen.
