Mairin Srygley is a multifaceted mezzo-soprano, hailed as “a star turn” for her “palpable sincerity.” In 2024-25, she debuted the roles of Sister Helen in Dead Man Walking and Sheila in Gift of the Magi (Whitacre) with Opera AACC, Maryland, and covered the role of Diamond Jim in the world premiere of The Tin Angel (D. Asia) with Teatro Grattacielo, New York City. Past roles include Sesto/La clemenza di Tito, Narrator/Considering Matthew Shepard, title role/Penelope and the Geese (M. Paranosic), Mother/Hansel and Gretel, and title role/Rinaldo. Notable past venues include the Corfu Museum of Asian Art, National Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and Newark Symphony Orchestra. She is passionate about advancing justice in/through the arts, challenging traditions of classical music, and sharing evidence-based information about vocal health. She maintains her studio/clinic MAS Voice Lessons and Therapy in Baltimore, MD where she lives with her husband, cat, and garden.
