Monica Camafreita is a Cuban American soprano recognized for her interpretive versatility and strong stage presence in both operatic repertoire and concert performance. She studied voice with Mignon Dunn at the Manhattan School of Music in NYC and Oscar Diaz, Jr. in her hometown of Miami, FL. 

In recent seasons, Monica has appeared as Suor Angelica, Mother Marie in Dialogues of the Carmelites, Waltraute in Götterdämmerung, and Kayla Whitting in the world premiere of Adventure Gospel. Her repertoire also includes roles such as Elisabetta in Maria Stuarda, Wellgunde in Das Rheingold, and the Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, among others. In addition to her operatic work, Monica maintains an active concert career and has appeared with Orchestra Nexus, the United Nations Orchestra, and the Connecticut Choral Society, performing both as a soloist and section leader. 

Monica’s musical training and command of languages, native English and Spanish, fluent French and Italian, and conversational German, allow her to approach a wide international repertoire with authenticity.
