“Samantha’s luscious middle range, easy top, and sonorous low notes provide many pleasures…” — Lew’s Opera Reviews. Samantha Luna is a Texas native soprano currently based in South Texas. She is a Metropolitan Opera Laffont Encouragement Award recipient and a firstprize winner of the Quest for the Best and Amelia Rieman Opera competitions. Samantha’s 2025–2026 season includes OPERA San Antonio’s production of The Magic Flute; A Touch of Frost with the Valley Symphony Orchestra; Elijah with The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Master Chorale; and Così fan tutte with Camerata Bardi Vocal Academy and Teatro Grattacielo. Performance highlights include La Cugina in Madama Butterfly (OPERA San Antonio & Austin Opera); Isabel in The Pirates of Penzance (OPERA San Antonio); Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni (International Summer Opera Festival of Morelia); The Plaintiff in Trial by Jury (Lawrence Opera Theatre); Lady Harriet in Martha (Lawrence Opera Theatre); Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni (Lawrence Opera Theatre); and Micaëla in Carmen (Utah Valley Operafest). She holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor of Music Education from The University of Texas at Brownsville. Samantha is currently an Adjunct Voice Professor at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and an active ensemble member with OPERA San Antonio.
